Welcome

Military Spouses for Change (MSC) is a non-profit, non-partisan membership organization created to promote the rights, interests, and needs of service members, veterans, wounded warriors, and military families by educating the public and empowering military spouses.

"Well behaved women rarely make history."

~Laurel Thatcher Ulrich

MSC was created by the spouses of active duty service members who believe that political awareness and social action are two powerful ways in which we can support our troops and honor our veterans.

Specifically, we believe that an informed and involved military spouse community could significantly influence existing and future military- and veteran-related policies, resulting in improved support services and the responsible use of military resources.

MSC is currently focusing on three action areas:

  1. Case Management: MSC acts as a conduit between service members, veterans,
and/or families and organizations (both public and private) that may be able to
help them in times of crisis or need. If we cannot find an organization that can
meaningfully assist them or resolve the matter, we will intervene and advocate
    for them, ourselves.

  2. Public Policy: MSC monitors Congressional and Executive policy-making and im-
plementation. We collect information and data from official and unofficial
sources in order to provide feedback to members of Congress as well as military
officials regarding the efficacy of their policies. Further, we are developing and
promoting policy changes that we believe would significantly improve the quality
of life and quality of care for our service members, veterans, and families.

  3. Education, Outreach, and Empowerment: MSC seeks to educate and empower
the spouses of service members and veterans, believing they are an untapped re-
source for ensuring that the needs of our communities are appropriately identi-
    fied and effectively met.

MSC uses the political power, personal experiences, and social networks of military spouses to:1) educate the public about the issues that military and veteran families face; 2) inform the debate on the needs of these families; and 3) empower themselves and each other.

MSC also offers its members a free, private, online support board.
